Antelope Canyons

The focus of my road trip was to get to Antelope Canyons and they sure didn’t disappoint!  There are two sets of canyons you can tour.  I had to do them both!  These photos are of the Upper Canyons which are within a cliff like area and are made up of large cavernous chambers and narrow passageways.  You go in and out of the canyons the same way so it is rather congested with tourists and photographers alike.  The only way to see the canyons is to purchase a tour with a company that provides native Navajo guides that narrate about the canyons.  These canyons were created over millions of year of water and wind erosion.  The slots (where they get their nickname Slot Canyons) provide light to shine into the canyons in some areas which produce not only gorgeous light beams, but amazing colors throughout the canyons.  They are a definite Must See if you are a photographer or happen to be in the area of The Grand Canyon, Zion National Park or Lake Powell.
